David Powers
Managing Principal
David M. Powers is the managing principal of Powers Strategies LLC, a full-service government relations firm in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Powers has a lifetime of involvement in political issues and at the highest levels of corporate government affairs. Before starting Powers Strategies, he spent over 20 years managing government relations for Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based Reynolds American – eight at the helm of the company’s state relations efforts. After retiring from Reynolds American in 2015, Powers started his own public affairs firm.
Will Mitchell
Director of Legislative Affairs
Will Mitchell is the Director of Legislative Affairs for Powers Strategies. Mitchell, a Chatham County native, has lived his entire life in North Carolina and has strong connections throughout the State. Mitchell has been involved in state government in North Carolina for the past 6 years.

Prior to Joining Powers Strategies in 2022, Mitchell was a staffer for current Congressman, Tim Moore, in the office of the NC Speaker of the House. In his time on Moore’s staff Mitchell worked on energy expansion, broadband internet access, and budget related legislation. Mitchell was a student athlete on the football team at North Carolina State University where he graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
